LIBRARY COMPUTER SUPPORT TECHNICIAN
Pay: $20.27/hr. – 30 hours per week
Position is CONTRACT through reSOURCE Government Services
Must be able to pass criminal background, drug testing and MVR
MAJOR FUNCTION
Skilled technical work providing operating system, software and hardware support for desktops, printers, handhelds, and peripherals, supporting all Library staff and patrons. Work involves hardware and software installation, troubleshooting and repair of desktops, printers, and other devices.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of Windows, Unix, OS X, and Android operating systems and associated software, including but not limited to imaging technology and anti-virus software; familiar with tablets, smart phones, e-readers, and associated applications; local area networks and peripherals; proper installation and de-installation procedures for computer hardware and software; proficient in the operation and basic repair of computer hardware and printers; skill in troubleshooting and maintenance of computer hardware and software, including printers; ability to keep accurate records and reports; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Very frequent walking, standing, lifting, carrying, talking/speaking, color vision, and depth perception. Constant hearing and seeing.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work performed in public and staff areas of the Library. Travel to multiple locations throughout the day.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associates Degree in computer related field or two years experience in installation, repair and configuration of computers and peripherals. Possession of a driver's license of a class appropriate to the position. A comparable amount of training or experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the minimum education requirements

- Installs and repairs computer hardware, software, and printers.
- Performs ongoing and preventive maintenance on desktop computers, printers, handhelds, and peripherals.
- Provides support concerning hardware and software remotely or onsite as assigned by the Library's Access Services division.
- Provides remote and onsite technical support at all six Library locations and the Law Library.
- Maintains necessary files, logs, inventory, and reports.
- Assists Library staff and the public with technology support.
- Performs work related to this job description as required.
