Job Description

We are seeking a skilled tradesperson to join our team at Martin Energy Group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Material Handling: Everyday handling of structural materials (steel beams, channel, square tubing, etc.)
• MIG Welding and Plasma Cutting: Proficient in MIG Welding and Plasma Cutting (freehand)
• Construction/Welding Drawings: Reads and comprehends construction/welding drawings and specifications
• Documentation: Marks up construction/welding drawings and specifications with as-built status
• Sand Blasting and Painting: Sand Blast & Paint Structural Steel material
• Installation: Install G-Rib Metal & Trim
• Installation: Install Snaplock Metal & Trim
• Equipment Operation: Operate overhead crane, scissor lift, and forklift (will provide training)
• Tool Familiarity: Capable to use everyday construction tools (tape measure, square, level, etc.)
• Teamwork: Works in conjunction with other crews and lead persons
• Tool Maintenance: Maintains responsibility for all tools and equipment assigned to the group
• Lifting and Mobility: Ability to lift 60lbs regularly and up to 80lbs at times
• Physical Demands: To have full range of motion of arms and legs for ability to work in confined quarters and to do overhead work
• Additional Duties: Other duties of temporary assignment when needed

Requirements:

• Label Reading and Safety: Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
• Welding Certification: Must be able to obtain Welding Certification provided by Company
• Basic Computer Skills: Ability to learn basic computer skills to communicate via email, document daily work and progress, and track procurements and status
• Attention to Detail and Safety: Always attentive to detail and alert to ensure safety
• Communication and Teamwork: Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers
• Carpentry and Finishing Work: Proficient carpentry skills
• Preferred Experience: Prior construction trim/finish work is preferred, but not required
• Preferred Experience: Prior painting experience is preferred, but not required
