Reporting to the Snow Supervisor, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to snow and ice removal. Responsibilities
- Operate power equipment and hand tools such as snow blowers, backpack blowers, salt spreaders, and snow shovels.
- Perform inspections and maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Assist in other work-related duties including loading and unloading of trucks and equipment, as well as vehicle and equipment maintenance.
- Adhere to safety protocols by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with customers.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner.
- Effective communication skills – must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs.
- Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various snow and ice removal activities.
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks.
- Compliance with all company policies and regulations.
- Understanding and adherence to local health and safety laws and regulations.
Working Conditions
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials.
- Physical capability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good manual dexterity is required.
- Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various conditions including rain, dust, noise, and cold temperatures.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including occasional weekend work and overnight shifts.
