Position Summary
This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a variety of off-road vehicles and heavy equipment utilized in Mining. The equipment operator will be responsible for operating various pieces of equipment in the quarry, including the water truck, haul truck, dozers, loaders, and excavators.
Hours: Monday-Friday:7 AM - 5 PM
Saturday: 7 AM - 3 PM

Responsibilities
- Operates a variety of off-road vehicles and heavy equipment within the company guidelines and safety standards
- Completes daily pre and post inspection of working areas and ensures they are equipped with adequate berms and roadways
- Performs pre-shift safety inspection on equipment and reports needed repairs to the supervisor
- Ensures safe operations around conveyors, surge piles and crushers
- Performs daily preventative maintenance - tire pressure, oil, grease, diesel fuel, hoses for leaks and all moving parts for proper function
- Maintains safe traffic flow throughout the site
- Aides in the training of co-workers as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Must be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated
- Will take an active role in the plant safety initiatives
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Willing to cross-train in different areas of production
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position
- Experience in the maintenance and operation of mobile equipment and/or equipment used processing plants
- Experience in operation and maintenance of off-road vehicles and heavy equipment preferred
- Able to work cooperatively with others toward a shared goal, contribute actively to the team efforts, and possess a positive attitude in working with others as a team
- Possess effective coordination and communication skills
- Possess strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge, and skills
- Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to perform duties with minimal supervision
- Able to work varying shifts as needed, outdoors, in varying weather conditions
- Able to adhere to MSHA guidelines and plant safety rules and regulations
- Able to ensure a safe work environment by prioritizing safety, then quality, followed by production
