Job Description
This position is responsible for safely and efficiently performing cross-functional duties in safety, plant maintenance, production, welding, cutting, and equipment operation. This is a full-time Non-union position.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for operating a variety of off-road haul trucks and other equipment utilized in mining which could include scalers, loaders, skid loaders, etc.
- Perform daily inspection of vehicle and work area as assigned
- Observe visual and auditory signals during vehicle operation
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment; clean equipment
- Assist on plant maintenance and repairs as needed
- Other mining related duties as required

Work Environment
This position operates 100% of the time in an outdoor surface aggregate quarry setting at Alden Quarry located in Alden, IA.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position that regularly requires Monday – Friday and some weekend work. Average work week is 55 to 60 hours per week.

Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must hold a valid, unrestricted driver’s license
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated
- Will take an active role in the plant safety initiatives
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Willing to cross-train in different areas of production
- Willing to travel to various work locations around the Twin Cities metro area
