Martin/Martin, Inc. is looking for structural Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our Structural Engineering Group in our Avon, Colorado office. This engineer will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of project types with many different structural materials. This position will provide opportunities to gain experience in both new building structural design and existing building investigations and retrofits.
A typical work week can include engineering calculations, drawing development, Construction Administration tasks, and site visits. This position allows for interactions with owners, architects, and contractors early in your career as you build relationships throughout the project life cycle. While many of our projects are located in the Rocky Mountain region, Martin/Martin’s national footprint provides opportunities to work on projects around the country.

EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Knowledge and use of computer design and CAD/BIM software
- Prepares details and calculations for project components and systems
- Learns about products and construction procedures
- Prepares and writes reports
- Provides field observation during construction
- Studies and applies building code and/or jurisdictional requirements
- Reviews shop drawings and product submittals
- Checks own work
- Coordinates work with other disciplines
- Acts proactively and proposes potential solutions to problems
- Works overtime, when necessary
- Other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES
This position is primarily technical in nature and requires working inside and outside the office to complete a wide range of activities. The following abilities are required:
- Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites
- Remain stationary for long periods of time
- Repetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouse
- Carry, ascend, and descend a ladder
- Identify color
- Read, communicate, and document in English
- Determine and exchange accurate information
- Occasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Investigative: Positions self in atypical environments and small, confined spaces
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum in Architectural, Civil, Environmental, Construction, Structural, or related engineering field
- Has passed FE Examination
- 0-4 years' experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in engineering from an engineering curriculum in Architectural, Civil, Structural, or related engineering field.
- Bachelor’s degree received from an institution with ABET accreditation in field of study.
- GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Working knowledge of building and material design codes
- Experience using computer design and graphics software for building structural design and documentation (AutoDesk REVIT, RAM, SAP, ETABS, RISA, etc.)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills with a commitment to client service and a team-based approach
- Construction field experience
- Experience programming in Grasshopper, Python, Dynamo, SQL, C#, C , VBA
