Martin/Martin is seeking an experienced structural engineer to join our Albuquerque, New Mexico office. This engineer will have the opportunity to design and manage structural engineering projects in New Mexico and throughout the U.S. in markets such as DOE/DOD labs and campuses, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, sports, office, and education.

Lastly, our investigative engineers are pivotal in supporting ongoing projects by planning and implementing repairs, renovations, and improvements for buildings and sites. With nine office locations and a staff of 370, Martin/Martin engineers regularly perform work across the United States and internationally.
This candidate will possess strong written, technical, and interpersonal skills as well as having excellent time management and organization skills. Additionally, this role is in a new and growing office, so the position will include a broad mix of opportunities for client interaction and career growth.
Examples Of Responsibilities
- Manages engineering and technician staff to complete projects.
- Coordinates structural design scope in-house and with other consultants.
- Develops, monitors, and manages project work plans, schedules, and design budgets.
- Serves as the primary point-of-contact with clients and contractors for their projects throughout design and construction.
- Develops and implements project specific QA/QC plans.
- Acts as a mentor and resource for less-experienced staff and assists with their career development.
- Attends project meetings and represents Martin/Martin, Inc. during design and construction.
- Takes an active role in developing and maintaining client relationships.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum
- 9 years progressive engineering experience (MSCE/MSAE counts as 1 year. Passing the 16-hour SE exam also counts as 1 year)
- Demonstrates leadership abilities beneficial to the company’s future
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Has designed numerous projects and followed them through from start of design to end of construction
- Experience working on Department of Energy and Department of Defense projects.
- Demonstrates effective internal and external communication skills
- Demonstrates advanced project management skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations/deadlines
