The speech language pathologist will have a unique opportunity to help assist in the continued development of the therapy program. If you are passionate about working with young children with autism and enjoy collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, Marty’s Orchid House would be the ideal setting for you to continue your career!
Marty's Orchid House is a day program that services young children from the ages of 18 months to 6 years that have autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and overlapping health conditions. The speech language pathologist should be highly motivated, passionate and innovative, providing comprehensive services in the day center setting. The main role of the speech language pathologist will be to assess and evaluate children and to implement an appropriate plan of care. The speech language pathologist should take a holistic approach to care, as the entire child, their environment and the thoughts and opinions of their caregivers/parents are taken into consideration when developing treatments/interventions. It is of utmost importance that this speech language pathologist has appropriate communication skills, as carryover plays an integral part in meeting the child’s needs.
