Job Title: Director of Healthcare Finance
Salary Range: $115,000 - $120,000 (based on relevant experience) – Quarterly bonuses possible based on hospital performance.
Direct Reports: 2 (Purchasing Coordinator and Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist)
Hospital Size: 40 beds, approximately 200 employees
Position Requirements:
- Location: Local candidates preferred (within 1 hour commute)
- Experience: Healthcare experience in accounting or finance is required
- Leadership Experience: Healthcare accounting/finance leadership experience is a plus but not mandatory (e.g., Sr. Financial Analysts, Sr. Accountants considered)
- Personality: Ideal candidate should be personable, a team player, confident, and have a positive attitude
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required (no GEDs or high school diplomas)
- Stability: Candidates with a consistent career history preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Purchasing & Expense Management: Approve hospital purchases in alignment with established policies and procedures
- Financial Reviews: Conduct monthly financial reviews and manage hospital expenses to stay within budget
- State Reporting: Prepare required state financial reports and ensure accuracy
- Budgeting: Complete the annual financial and capital budgets
- Accounts Receivable: Review hospital A/R on a daily basis and manage follow-up as needed
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit monthly financial packages to corporate
- Labor Productivity: Assist departments in monitoring labor productivity to maintain efficiency
- Forecasting: Complete weekly financial forecasts and projections
- Ad-Hoc Reports: Generate reports as requested by the CEO, hospital leadership, regional teams, and corporate office
- Internal Controls: Oversee hospital internal controls and audits to ensure compliance
- Cost Reporting: Complete necessary cost report packages as required
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to Medicare regulations and monitor hospital compliance
- Operational Effectiveness: Implement action plans to improve operational performance and effectiveness
- Governance Participation: Attend hospital governing body and partnership board meetings as needed
- Time Management: Organize, plan, and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion of assignments
- Mandatory Training: Complete all required training and courses by their deadlines
