Automation & Controls Intern

Marvin Composites is hiring an Automation & Controls Intern at our Fargo, ND location. As an Automation and Controls Intern, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize automated equipment, helping ensure smooth and efficient plant operations. With a fully automated manufacturing line, this internship provides hands-on exposure to advanced automation technology and systems.

You’ll gain experience programming PLCs, diagnosing and repairing equipment, and supporting technology upgrades. This internship offers a chance to build your skills while working alongside diverse teams on real-world projects. This is a paid internship. It is full-time during the summer and part-time with a flexible schedule during the school year. We’re looking for candidates available to work year-round, balancing their academic schedules and professional growth.

Highlights of your role

• Aid Controls team in: Programming and maintaining automated equipment, including PLCs, to ensure efficient performance across production and facility systems.
• Aid Controls team in: diagnosing, repairing, and replacing faulty mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.
• Perform machine wiring as needed and provide timely technical support for operations and maintenance.
• Assess current equipment and recommend or implement technology upgrades to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams while contributing individual expertise.
• Ensure project goals are met by driving tasks to completion on time and within scope.
  
  

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

• PLC programming experience or education is a plus
• Ability to communicate effectively throughout various department levels

• Currently pursuing a Two-year technical degree or a Bachelor's degree in engineering
