Defense contractor involved with product development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles in the Los Angeles International Airport area is searching for an experienced Production Expediter. With a 50 year foundation, The Marvin Group supports all branches of the Department of Defense and allies around the globe on an array of programs and platforms. We support many military prime contractors including Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon.
SCOPE
Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials according to the production schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide direction by communicating expectations; review planning; monitor work flow by coaching, counseling, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
- Provide leadership to IPT area in Production Control Department; make decisions; solve problems; represent department at internal and external meetings
- Provide support to the production team regarding manufactured/purchased part requirements. This includes outside vendor delivery dates
- Responsible for accurate status updates and tracking of parts. This includes updating Excel status sheets daily.
- Assist with the physical routing of parts to the next work center
- Must be able to think ahead to the next step in the manufacturing process and anticipate any future needs/problems
- Expedite part(s) thru the production cycle, when necessary, to meet the production schedule
- Assist Production Supervisors with insuring that materials for required job(s) are available and accessible
- Work with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering and Production Leads in regard to rework and rejected product in order to maintain the production schedule
- Ability to report status and updates to Program Managers
- Have Multi Product Line Experience, to include being stationed at various assembly floors or departments
- Perform New Hire Training
- Maintain PDR Accuracy for assigned IPT
- Other duties as assigned by management
SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office based programs including Excel and Word
- One year of Manufacturing experience with SAP experience
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in an efficient and timely manner with the ability to multitask when needed
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
