Position Summary
The Scheduling Coordinator-Specialty Clinic is responsible for providing coordination of the provider’s surgery and clinic schedules. This is a clerical position which is the first line representative to the hospitals and surgery centers and is responsible for scheduling operative procedures. This position works as a team member of the clinic.

However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.

Position Summary
The Scheduling Coordinator-Specialty Clinic is responsible for providing coordination of the provider’s surgery and clinic schedules. This is a clerical position which is the first line representative to the hospitals and surgery centers and is responsible for scheduling operative procedures. This position works as a team member of the clinic.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates the scheduling of surgical procedures accurately, recognizing the importance and relationship to patient care
- Verifies insurance benefits for surgical cases
- Obtains insurance pre-certification and authorization for surgical cases
- Coordinates and schedules patient pre-op, pre-admit and post-op appointments
- Schedules all meetings for provider, including attorney and vendor meetings
- Maintains, coordinates and manipulates provider clinic schedule to accommodate surgical cases, CME, vacation, court appearance, attorney depositions and all other meetings for the provider, using both Epic and MS Outlook programs
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Minimum two (2) years of clerical experience in a medical environment
