Medical Director, Physiatrist - Inpatient Rehabilitation
Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation at Vandalia Health CAMC General Hospital is seeking a medical director and three full-time staff physiatrists. Mary Free Bed has partnered with Vandalia Health - a health system of 17 hospitals in West Virginia - to build a new, 50 bed rehabilitation hospital with outpatient physiatry and therapy clinics connected via a walkway to the CAMC General Hospital. The current, 24-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility is located at CAMC General Hospital Campus which has a Level 1 Trauma Center, comprehensive Stroke Center, and Orthopedic Trauma Center, serving a population of over 750,000 residents. We offer a broad spectrum of diagnostic, medical, surgical, and rehabilitative services and have a built-in referral system. The physiatrist would provide inpatient care and physiatry consults as well as opportunity to build an outpatient practice based on area of interest.
Physiatrists in this role will provide inpatient rehabilitation care, manage a PM&R consult service, and have the opportunity to develop an outpatient clinic tailored to their areas of interest. The position includes call and weekend coverage responsibilities. Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation at Vandalia Health CAMC General Hospital offers a thriving environment for rehabilitation professionals, with 650 inpatient admissions annually and a range of active outpatient programs and services. Currently, the team operates a busy 24-bed JCAHO and CARF-accredited rehabilitation center, with an average daily census of 18. The facility provides an excellent opportunity to work alongside an experienced physiatrist while also engaging with residents and medical students through its affiliation with the West Virginia School of Medicine.
The new, 50-bed rehabilitation hospital will also house outpatient physiatry and therapy clinics. This cutting-edge facility will be connected via a walkway to the CAMC General Campus, enabling seamless access to its comprehensive medical services.
