What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Chefs and Kitchen Assistants position at Mary Giuliani Catering and Events?
MGCE is a high-end offsite catering company that caters to the stars. We are located in New York City and have been in business since 2005. We have a commitment to providing our clients with the latest and greatest in food, beverage and entertaining trends while producing a unique and memorable experience.
We are looking for strong Event Chefs and Kitchen Assistants to join our team. Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
1. Minimum 1-2 years of solid experience in off-site catering, event venues or PDR's/ restaurant catering
2. Execute menus per chef’s direction for events ranging from cocktail receptions to seated dinners for 10-1000 guests; has a high skill set and flawless presentation
3. Works with a sense of urgency, is a natural leader and takes direction well
4. Is able to stand on their feet for prolonged periods of time; able to lift 40lb objects
5. Familiar with unloading, setting up work stations and post event breakdown
6. Familiar with a wide array of event venues; managing space and power constraints; setting up BOH
7. Has a can do attitude, is a great communicator; acts as a brand ambassador for our company
8. Arrives on time and in uniform
9. Has a general knowledge of food safety and sanitation requirements
10. Owns a knife kit
11. Must possess valid NYC Food Handler Certificate
