JOB DESCRIPTION
With direction and guidance, acts as an active business partner to assigned group(s) in achieving business goals, strategies and objectives by facilitating and providing direction regarding employee relations issues, recruiting, and talent management. Assists in the development, coordination and administration of human resources initiatives for work groups within an assigned area. Acts as a liaison between HR and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of HR programs.
- Provides guidance to managers, supervisors and employees on employee relations issues, including the disciplinary process. Meets with employees to hear concerns and to promote understanding of policies and procedures, the compensation and benefits programs and use of the Open Door Process. Encourages problem resolution through the chain of command. Seeks guidance from senior HR staff for non-routine or complex issues.
- Facilitates the timely recruitment and selection of employees by managing both exempt and non-exempt requisitions, sourcing, screening and interviewing candidates and scheduling interviews. Promotes and maintains the Job Opportunity Program (JOP). Provides career guidance to employees and considers internal talent pool as opportunities arise.
- Partners with management to implement and ensure all Human Resources Programs such as PDP, PIP, EOD, Succession Planning, Harassment Training, etc. provide overall effectiveness and ensure equity, fairness and consistency in the administration of human resources policies and procedures.
- Consults with management and the Compensation department to recommend salaries for new hires, equity alignments for employees, internal promotions and administer the annual merit increase and performance bonus programs.
- Responds to and resolves unemployment claims and EEOC claims and charges under the direction of legal counsel. Receives, reviews, researches and responds to unemployment claims and issues with statements and data reflecting company’s position in writing and/or in person at hearings.
- This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Experience: 2 years
Field of Experience: Human Resources with focus in recruiting and employee relations
Education: Bachelor/University Degree
Education Focus: Human Resources, Business or related field
- Must have a basic knowledge and understanding of fundamental business and human resources principles.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills to create strong relationships with team members and cross functional partners.
- Must exercise sound judgment and discretion to effectively work with both employees and management regarding sensitive and confidential issues.
- Ability to understand customer's business and build credibility through value added partnering and effective working relationships.
- Verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills required to effectively communicate with employees at all levels.
- Ability to represent Mary Kay Inc. to the business and public community and to interact with executives at Mary Kay.
