What are the responsibilities and job description for the Booking Manager position at Mary T Inc.?
Crooners Supper Club is hiring for a full-time Booking Manager to provide artistic leadership in the Crooners experience including music programming, sound and lights, and ambiance levels for lighting and music.
This will be a full-time position, offering 30 hours per week. The schedule is flexible and allows for some remote work. There is an expectation that the Booking Manager would be able to be on-site at the Club at least once per week.
Job Duties Include:
- Identify current performers and push out a yearly plan.
- Maintain relationships with current performers and act as their main point of contact to foster long-term engagements.
- Oversee programming and logistics for Maggie’s Piano Lounge, The Belvedere, Main Stage and the Dunsmore venues.
- Provide the Accounting department and Service Manager with timely Status Reports on individual artists and shows listing special needs and accommodations.
- Communicate with sound/operations team immediately in the event of changes or cancellations.
- Collaborate with sound coordinator to continually adjust show start times for effective staff operations.
- Collaborate with sound/operations team on aesthetic and functional adjustments for overall improvement of the Crooners environment.
- Creatively and quickly develop and execute contingencies when there are show changes or cancelations.
- Collaborate with marketing and PR colleagues, monitoring ticket sales daily, and assist in developing marketing strategies and initiatives.
- Constantly update internal music calendar noting any change of times, venue, or dates through communications with assistant to social media manager.
- Supervise Sound Coordinator.
- Negotiate artist fees, expenses, housing accommodations, availability for promotion, backstage needs, accommodations, drinks, and meals.
- Oversee the artist contracts to include split amounts, ticket prices etc.
- Maintain relationships with artists and their managers and/or agents.
- Work with local artists and their representatives to develop new concepts and shows.
- Scout and recruit new acts, talent and shows from Metro area.
- Act as an ambassador and advocate for Crooners Supper Club with artists, booking agents and music scene.
- Develop and monitor concert budgets and pricing strategies for local performers.
- Create a strategic plan for Crooners that includes growth opportunities.
- Ensure regular information flow with Box Office Manager on upcoming shows
- Develop shorthand for describing shows in brief for Box Office and Service Manager
- Provide oversight to Managers for Music Concerts and Special Music Events production, including staffing for sound, lighting and tech set-up and break-down
- Provide Talent Booking Expertise, as needed, with the Special Events Team.
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous relevant business experience with specialized knowledge of the local Mpls/St. Paul music scene
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Ability to demonstrate and practice the principles of proper body mechanics for all physical activities
