What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Culinary Services position at Mary Wade Home?
We are searching for a full-time Director of Culinary Services to be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, evaluating, and effectively directing the dining program at Mary Wade and Chatham Place consistent with regulations and established best practices.
As part of the leadership team, the Director of Culinary Services participates in the planning and implementation of strategies and programming that assure high quality meals while achieving short and long-term operational goals and objectives for the Mary Wade community. Oversee all aspects of the dietary services for Skilled Nursing, Adult Day Services, Residential Care Home and Assisted Living to transform the dining experience to those we serve.
Schedule: 40 hours per week. Ability to be flexible with the schedule to accommodate the needs of the departments and campus.
Annual Salary Range: $83,000.00 to $ 90,000.00
Our resident population is primarily seniors with varying levels of acuity.

Job Duties Include but not limited to:
- Maintains and establishes dietary standards and policies.
- Assists Dietician in establishing and revising dietary policies and procedures.
- Purchases food and supplies working closely with vendors and navigator purchasing system.
- Checks incoming food and supplies and directs storage.
- Follow the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) requirement for Adult Day Services, while following guidelines and menus developed by Dietician.
- Plans and assists in preparation of special meals for campus events and holidays.
- Participate in Manager on Duty weekend rotation for the entire building
- Works to insure a high level of customer service and satisfaction
- Responsible for supervising dietary staff
- Coordinates and conducts in-service meetings.
- Directs cleaning of kitchen area and equipment
- Participates in the recruitment efforts for the department
- Plans and schedules work, establishes standards, interprets and applies policy, may formulate procedures or initiate activities within the scope of the position
- Must have an associates degree or higher in food service management or in hospitality from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Food service or restaurant management experience a plus
- Ability to meet the State of CT requirements for food service managers or dietary managers
- Prior supervisory experience required
- Ability to problem solve employee relations issues
- Demonstrates cooperation and teamwork with peers and other departments.
- Engages in positive customer service interaction with residents, families and visitors.
- Takes ownership of an error in delivery of service and works to correct the problem.
- Displays good attendance and is punctual.
Salary : $83,000 - $90,000
