What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Temporary position at Maryland Courts?
The Maryland Judiciary is now hiring for summer help in (Office Location). Positions will generally last approximately one year, but the assignment may end early depending on the needs of the court. Duties vary but may include the following: scanning, duplicating, organizing, and archiving files; filing documents and retrieving files for employees; data entry; making copies, assisting case processing clerks in basic duties; legal research (College Students, College Graduates or Law Students only); and other related duties as assigned.
Education:
High school diploma (or GED equivalent).
Experience:
Applicants need not have job related experience, but previous experience in general office environment and/or retail is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient with using alpha and numeric filing systems and the ability to sort, process, verify, proofread, create, and file miscellaneous reports and documents. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications, specifically Excel. Well organized and detail oriented. Proficient in operating office equipment such as a computer, printer, photocopier, scanner, telephone, or fax machine. Ability to communicate effectively with court personnel. Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions. Ability to sit for long periods and lift or move boxes weighing approximately 25 pounds. Ability to perform all essential functions of this position.
