The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is currently seeking a dynamic Organizational Development Consultant to join its newly established Organizational Development (OD) division. This strategic role is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing initiatives that enhance employee performance, team effectiveness, and organizational culture. The OD Consultant plays a critical role in fostering a positive and productive work environment while supporting continuous improvement across MTA’s services and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Organizational Development Interventions
Purpose: Design and execute interventions that improve team performance, support organizational culture, and address strategic challenges.
Impact: Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and team-building activities to promote collaboration, morale, and alignment with MTA’s strategic goals.
2. Project Management and Consultation
Purpose: Lead OD projects including apprenticeship, leadership, and succession planning programs, ensuring integration with MTA’s strategic objectives.
Impact: Streamline processes and enhance project delivery. Provide tailored solutions to complex organizational issues and policy recommendations in collaboration with HR, Employee Relations, and Legal.
3. Performance Management
Purpose: Develop a new performance management tool for agency-wide implementation beginning FY’26, aligned with updated policies.
Impact: Identify staff development needs, support promotional readiness, and apply best practices across the organization.
4. Succession Planning
Purpose: Create succession planning programs to address staffing needs and leadership gaps, aligned with MTA’s mission and policies.
Impact: Improve leadership development and workforce sustainability through strategic succession pipelines.
5. Workforce Development Programs
Purpose: Design programs that enhance job preparedness, job readiness, and skills development for current and prospective talent.
Impact: Strengthen internal capabilities, provide career pathways, and improve job satisfaction through targeted learning initiatives.
6. Training and Development
Purpose: Deliver learning and development programs using diverse instructional methods, with emphasis on leadership, apprenticeship, and succession planning.
Impact: Ensure training remains relevant and effective. Support development of future leaders through programs such as the Emerging Leaders Program.
