MFB’s distributes food through a statewide network of community-based organizations from Maryland’s western mountains to its Eastern Shore. Last year, the Maryland Food Bank distributed enough food to provide the equivalent of more than 41 million meals, or about 114,000 meals every day. About The Position
The Operations Support Manager plays a crucial role in supporting our Operations, Facilities, and other departments in achieving operational and strategic readiness. Responsibilities include optimizing resource allocation, forecasting staffing needs, fulfilling resource requests, solving scheduling conflicts, and providing management support to ensure smooth execution of projects and day-to-day operations.
Primary Responsibilities
The employee will carry out job duties from inside a professional office and warehouse environment with little fluctuation in temperature, including lifting and/or moving items weighing up to 50-75 pounds. Travel to other MFB locations is required for this position.
Pay range: $72,000 - $79,500

About The Position
The Operations Support Manager plays a crucial role in supporting our Operations, Facilities, and other departments in achieving operational and strategic readiness. Responsibilities include optimizing resource allocation, forecasting staffing needs, fulfilling resource requests, solving scheduling conflicts, and providing management support to ensure smooth execution of projects and day-to-day operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supports the Warehouse, Operations, Partner Logistics, Operations Support, and Transportation Managers in day-to-day work and strategic planning functions
- Responsible for the documentation and development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to food & workplace safety
- Assist department managers with maintaining food & workplace safety protocols
- Develops & implements a training and safety schedule per department management
- Performs scored inspections regularly and provides SWAT analysis to the Sr. Vice President of Operations
- Assists with the implementation of new systems, budgeting, and training of internal and external stakeholders
- Supports the assessment of processes and procedures to identify inefficiencies
- Coordinates with team members to create and implement solutions that align with organizational priorities
- Publishes and communicates all developed processes, process changes, and findings
- Fills in as temporary or relief manager, as assigned
- At least five (5) years of experience as a trainer and/or supervisor in warehousing and distribution
- Proven success in developing and implementing process improvements, operational efficiencies, and compliance standards
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams), and other technological platforms (i.e. Zoom, CRM, WMS, TMS, and Zip)
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Solid knowledge in OSHA and AIB (or similar food safety audits ) regulations and compliance
- SERVSAFE Manager certification
- Excellent interpersonal, networking, and problem-solving skills
- Goal-oriented and ability to lead teams
- Capable of working with agility and able to adapt successfully to changing environments
- Project Management certification preferred
