Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County (VAAAC) is seeking a Project Manager that will oversee the planning, design, and construction of a new information center at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport, scheduled to open in 2025. This is a contractual position that involves managing project timelines, ensuring compliance with all airport guidelines, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. The Project Manager will collaborate with the Senior Director of Finance & Administration (SDFA) and other key staff to take this concept from inception through to opening. Projected start is February 2025.

Project Oversight:
This is a contractual position with a duration of six (6) months with potential for an extension. The rate for this role ranges from $50 - $60/hr, commensurate with the candidate's expertise, qualifications, and certifications, such as a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or relevant experience in construction and compliance within specialized environments.
This position is not eligible for benefits. However, Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County will reimburse for approved expenses related to mileage and parking.
The position is primarily remote, with weekly on-site meetings at the main office in Annapolis, MD, and site visits to BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight:
- Manage the overall development and execution of the BWI Storefront project from initiation to completion.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project timelines, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are met.
- Monitor project progress and address any issues or risks promptly.
- Ensure all project activities comply with BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and permits required for the project.
- Collaborate with the SDFA and internal teams to align project goals with organizational priorities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for architects, designers, general contractors, and other external vendors.
- Work with the SDFA to draft, review, and evaluate RFPs for architects, designers, and contractors.
- Assist in the selection process, ensuring proposals align with project requirements and budget constraints.
- In collaboration with SDFA, oversee contract negotiations and manage vendor relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project expenditures to ensure alignment with the approved budget.
- Prepare regular updates on project status, timelines, and financial performance for senior leadership.
- 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in construction or facility development.
- Experience with RFP processes and vendor management.
- Familiarity with airport guidelines and regulations is a plus.
- A commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County.
- Other duties as assigned.
