Description
Marymount School of New York seeks a dynamic and experienced creative technology educator to join our Lower School faculty. We are looking for a skilled technology teacher and idea generator who is excited to build enthusiasm for innovative uses of technology, engineering, and design with a focus on robotics and computer programming. In addition to teaching creative technology classes, the Lower School creative technology teacher leads STEAM programming for Lower School, modeling innovative teaching and learning and collaborating with other faculty to support student learning. In addition to classroom responsibilities, faculty are expected to be engaged and active participants in the school community.
Requirements
- An advanced degree in education, educational technology, or related field
- Minimum of three to five years of experience in a Lower School setting
- A demonstrated commitment to experiential learning and a willingness to implement innovative teaching and learning practices
- Proficiency with Fab Lab tools, including Prusa and GLowforge 3D printers preferred
- Proficiency with N-5 coding platforms (Scratch, Scratch Jr.), digital design (TinkerCad), electronic prototyping platforms (Makey Makey, Arduino), robotics (beebot, ozobot), and emerging technologies preferred
- Proficiency with Apple technology and Seesaw
- Commitment to equity and belonging in teaching practices
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
