POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide clerical and student/staff support services to the school.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Greet and assist students, staff and visitors, answer the telephone and deliver messages.
- Manage daily student attendance and related duties.
- Assist with the management of school funds.
- Assist ill or injured students and staff as needed.
- Assist teachers with classroom or clerical duties as assigned.
- Keep student files organized and up to date.
- Keep student profiles current, including attendance and discipline records, and send the appropriate form letters to parents.
- Assure the completion of forms and reports that relate to student records; for example, emergency medical forms.
- Supervise students in such activities as in-school suspension, lunch, study hall, and after school while waiting for transportation.
- Sort and distribute mail, flyers, brochures, etc.
- Maintain a neat, attractive office environment.
- Assist the secretary and other building departments as needed.
- Maintain the confidentiality of information that is not public domain.
- Assist with special projects, such as handbooks, invitations, fund raisers and awards programs.
- Participate in professional development activities as assigned.
- Observe the adopted daily building schedule, and perform all assigned duties.
- Attend all assigned staff meetings, unless excused.
- Observe all safely and health regulations of the school district.
- Maintain an appropriate personal appearance.
- Serve as a role model in the practice of ethical principles, responsible behavior and democratic values.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
- High School diploma.
- Strong knowledge of technology preferred.
- Alternative to the above qualifications as the Superintendent or HR Director and/or Board of Education may find appropriate.
- Strong computer skills including word, excel, publisher, etc.
- Well developed oral communication skills.
- Competence with computers and office machines, and a willingness to continuously upgrade those skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with all staff and to interact with staff, students and the public in a positive manner.
- Ability to adapt to change quickly and to accept new and challenging tasks as they arise.
- Willingness to become trained in first aid.

- Some interaction with unruly children.
- Occasional interaction with angry or distraught adults.
- Regular requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, reach, stretch with hands and arms, stoop, crouch, and kneel.
- Frequent requirement to lift, carry, push and pull various items; for example, books and supplies, up to 25 lbs.

- Salary: Based on current classified salary schedule with appropriate experience and training
