This is a 10 hour shift, 4 days per week with some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Increases access to evidence-based treatment for LGBTQIA clients of New Jersey with mental health disorders.
  • Meets with the clients for coaching at least weekly during the first six (6) months and then monthly in the remaining six (6) months.
  • Provides education and awareness with mental health disorders.
  • Provides recovery support for clients throughout their continuum of care and into the community for up to one year.
  • Provides Motivational Interviewing (MI) social skill interventions, and support for patients to gain the necessary adaptive skills to be successful in recovery.
  • Assists the clients with implementing their recovery plans, connects them to services and self-help groups, and supports positive behavioral change.
  • Helps clients cope with stressful situations that could lead to relapse of mental health concerns.
  • Assists clients with progression through the stages of change to alter high-risk behaviors, model effective problem solving skills, and provide on-going monitoring.
  • Stay in engaged with clients and provide support where needed.
  • Develop and collect project data plan.
  • Implement GPRA/NOMS at intake, discharge, and at the six (6) month mark of recovery.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Education/Licensure: Associates Degree preferred, High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Minimum three (3) years of experience working in with mental health disorders with demonstrable results. Experience supporting the LGBTQIA community.
  • Driving: Valid driver’s license and car insurance is required. An MVR check will be completed.
  • Valid NJ Certification as a Certified Recovery Support Practitioner (CRSP) preferred.
  • Sobriety: If recovering, must have at least two (2) years of continuous sobriety and maintain sobriety throughout employment.
