Industrial Engineer Job Description
The Industrial Engineer will partner with the Plant Manager to drive maximum operational efficiency through the effective application of industrial engineering practices, lean management principles, automation, and continuous improvement strategies. This role plays a pivotal part in reducing costs, improving quality, ensuring DIFOT (Delivery In Full, On Time), reducing lead times, and enhancing customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Körber LMS Implementation and Oversight: Lead the implementation of the Körber Labor Management System within the distribution center. Oversee its performance, ensure system adoption, and analyze data to identify productivity gaps. Collaborate with stakeholders to drive improvements based on LMS insights.
- Process Improvement:
- IDentify and implement improvements in warehouse methods and workflows in collaboration with the management team. Focus on increasing efficiency, reducing waste, and improving operational outcomes.
- Automation and Material Handling:
- Explore and implement automation and material handling solutions in partnership with vendors. Drive initiatives that enhance distribution center efficiency through innovative automation technologies.
- Workforce Optimization:
- Support workforce planning efforts and ensure effective incentive processes by overseeing the performance metrics tracked through the Körber LMS. Collaborate with teams to maintain accurate reporting and drive continuous improvement in workforce productivity.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Apply lean management principles to streamline warehouse processes, enhance operational efficiency, and drive cost-effective solutions.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain engineering in the US.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and data analysis tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
