JOB DESCRIPTIONPOSITION TITLE: High School Physical Sciences(s) TeacherSCHOOL: MRHSQUALIFICATIONS: Must be NH certified or in the process of obtaining NH certification in ChemistryREPORTS TO: Building AdministrationHOURS: Per Collective Bargaining Agreement PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIESCreates and maintains a safe and welcoming learning environment for all studentsBuilds positive relationships with students to enhance instruction and contributes to the overall climate and culture of the school buildingPlans and executes comprehensive and engaging, science courses based on the NGSS and district curriculum maps. This position has a focus on chemistry, though other courses may be part of the course load including physical science and physics. Uses updated pedagogical practices and techniques to engage learners in science curriculumSelects up to date and relevant resources that enhances learner understanding and helps make content material relevant to studentsUtilizes current grading practices to accurately communicate mastery to students and parentsEnsures modifications and accommodations are in place for students to access science curriculumsMonitors and evaluates student performances on assessments, adjusting instructions to accommodate student learning and provide necessary re-teaching opportunitiesUpholds and enforces school procedures, rules, and operations to ensure student safetyCollaborates with colleagues to plan, share, and integrate instructional goals, objectives , methods, and assessments within the Science department and across the larger school communityCommunicates with parents in a professional manner to provide support/resources for student successParticipates in professional growth activities and complete a professional development plan that includes professional conferences and workshops related to best practices in the field of science educationEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum- Bachelors Degree in area of certification or ability to attain certificationExperience working with students of middle/high school age preferred
