Job Title: Technology Support Specialist
Job Summary: Under the general, technical, and administrative supervision of the Director of Information Technology, and in accordance with the Mascenic Regional Public District’s established policies and procedures, the Technology Support Specialist is responsible for implementing and supporting technology for teachers, staff, and students.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum Associate’s degree or 2 years equivalent work experience in computer science, information technology, management information systems, or related area.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of Windows and Chrome OS is essential. Experience with Chromebooks, Windows laptops, and Google Workspace for Education is strongly preferred.
3. Experience with educational technology tools such as Smart Boards, document cameras, and classroom audio systems is a plus.
4. Exceptional organizational skills with a particular ability to multitask and prioritize work.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication.
6. Ability to address support issues in a methodical manner, work independently, and work on a team exhibiting exceptional initiative, judgment, and patience.
7. Excellent interpersonal skills - Maintains confidentiality; Creates and maintains a positive and conducive work environment.
8. Citizenship, residency, or work VISA in the United States required
Essential Functions: Supporting the technology needs of the District staff and students. This position requires the knowledge of various skills and competencies relating to configuring, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of the District computers and equipment, including but not limited to servers, desktops, laptops, tablets, interactive flat panels, phones, printers related software.
Working Conditions: The Technology Support Specialist will be on site, following a schedule that rotates between each building, to support teachers and staff. Duties will be performed when buildings are occupied and/or unoccupied; therefore, the ability to adjust work routines and/or schedule to meet the changing circumstances is required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Job Specifications: The Technology Support Specialist’s primary responsibilities are:
Manages and maintains classroom technology including interactive displays, document cameras, audio systems, and student devices.
Sets up and configures new computers, Chromebooks, and tablets with required software and applications.
Assists teachers with educational technology tools including Google Classroom, digital assessment platforms, and educational apps.
Maintains and troubleshoots classroom printing solutions and helps manage print queues.
Provides basic support for student information systems such as PowerSchool.
Assists with maintaining and organizing mobile device carts and charging stations.
Helps manage student and staff accounts for various educational platforms and services.
Provides basic hardware repair for Chromebooks, laptops, and tablets.
Maintains accurate inventory of technology equipment.
Creates and maintains documentation for common technical procedures and solutions.
Assists in providing basic technology training to staff and students.
Performs other job duties as required.
Work Year: This is a full-time, 12-month position
