Who We Are Looking For:
Mashcole has an opening for a Human Resources Assistant in our Human Resources Department! Our ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter that can manage a diverse set of tasks.
Our ideal candidate is organized, a multi-tasker with strong interpersonal skills. You will assist with employee. The Human Resources Assistant will report directly to the Human Resources Director and will be part of a collaborative team where innovative ideas are encouraged and practiced.
Job Summary:
Assist the Human Resources Director in recruiting, onboarding, employee data collection, administration, HR projects, worker’s compensation, processing and analysis, and other clerical duties.
THIS IS A FULL TIME ONSITE POSITION
Job knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
- General knowledge of applicable employment laws and practices.
- Prior experience in administration of benefits and HR programs preferred.
- Skills in database management, record keeping and filing.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and good intuition
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
Job Tasks/Duties
- Maintain personnel files under supervision
- Cross train in payroll processing software and procedures.
- Handle full onboarding cycle, including new hire orientation and training
- Process employee voluntary and involuntary termination documents and system updates.
- Participate in meetings (e.g. safety program, activity set up, confidential) and assist as needed.
- Monitor staff compliance with I-9 documents, required job related certificates, employee reviews, and other company required documents.
- Maintain and assist with employee bulletin boards, newsletters and communication.
- Prepare internal and external position vacancy advertisements and announcements, including ads, website, job boards and college career offices.
- Manage the flow of applications and the recruiting
- Processes enrollments, changes, and terminations of participants in all benefit plans and programs.
- Assist employees with any benefit and/or payroll issues or concerns.
- Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Follow all standards required by all applicable federal, state and other laws and regulations, and files all compliance reports with the respective federal and state agencies.
- Participate in HR staff meetings, and necessary HR seminars.
- Complete special project tasks as assigned by the Human Resources Director.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Paycom experience (1 year preferred)
- Human Resources Experience (1 year preferred)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform sedentary office work
- Occasional lifting of files/documents (up to 20 pounds)
- Extended periods of computer and desk work
