Compensation: Exempt, $37.72/HR-$53.89/HR

Job Summary:
Serves as a subject-matter expert on employee Benefits. Provide support and guidance to all employees on benefit related questions and matters. Functions as a liaison between vendors and employees and advises employees on eligibility, coverage, and other benefits matters. Ensures Mason Health’s benefit plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and plan provisions are followed. Strong knowledge and experience serving as a liaison with Benefits Brokers; experience in working with multiple benefits plans is a must.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer employee benefit programs such as retirement plans, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, temporary disability, wellness and EAP.
- Serve as a liaison between Mason Health and benefit brokers.
- Collaborate with other HR Team members to complete projects and tasks surrounding benefit-related matters.
- Work as a liaison between HR and payroll, providing data entry and other support as necessary.
- Update and maintain specific personnel, benefit and payroll data in Mason’s HRIS database.
- Work with outside agency contracts and business relationships which includes seeking out new agencies as appropriate, maintain contract compliance, and address escalated agency personnel issues.
- Periodically audit all benefits enrollments to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Process status changes and terminations through all requisite applications.
- Responsible for Open Enrollment annually including coordination of benefit brokers for the annual benefit/wellness fair.
- Process 1095C statements annually.
- Processes annual step increases each pay period and annual market adjustments through uploads into HRIS database.
- Audits monthly benefit billing for accuracy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- An associate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Two plus years of experience working in human resources is required.
- One year of direct experience as a Benefits Specialist, or similar role, is required.
Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:
- Professional human resources of benefit certification preferred (e.g., PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, CEBs, etc.)
