ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Collaborates with Education Department to identify and meet individual learning needs.

· Assists in investigation of reports of abuse, mistreatment, neglect, and reporting to NYS Department of Health as needed.

· Assists the Director of Nursing in providing safe, efficient and therapeutically safe nursing care.

· Performs administrative duties in the absence of the Director of Nursing/AOD as assigned.

· Assists in establishing lines of authority and responsibility and defining the duties of nursing service personnel consistent with good administrative techniques to assure that department objectives are accomplished.

· Assists in the development /revision of nursing service policies and procedures

· Analyzes nursing and professional services to improve quality of resident care and to obtain maximum utilization of staff time and abilities.

· Addresses resident/family concerns promptly.

· Reviews daily reports, and follows up with concerns as needed.

· In the absence of the Director of Nursing and in conjunction with the Staffing Coordinators, reviews staffing needs on a regular basis.

· Performs random audits regarding medication administration records.

· Works closely in developing Neighborhood Managers.

· Responsible as the QAA coordinator for insuring the completion of QAA auditing and monitoring.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a BSN Degree preferred, not required.
  • Current license by the State Board of Nursing required and demonstrated administrative ability.
  • Experience in a Supervisory capacity demonstrating executive ability and leadership.
  • Ability to confer and collaborate with other Department Heads, personnel of outside agencies and Supervisors.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to understand and present oral and written material in communicating with Supervisors and subordinates.
  • Must pass Medications Testing and Skills Proficiency on an annual basis.
  • Maintain current CPR certification.
  • Preferred CDC Infection Control Training certificate.

The base range for this position is $88K - $95K per year commensurate with work location, experience, skills, certifications, education & prior accomplishments.

The position may be eligible for additional compensation not listed here, including but not limited to shift differentials, incentives or bonuses, as applicable.
