JOB SUMMARY:
Masonic Care Community is seeking a qualified Director of Plant Operations. The individual is responsible for overseeing daily operational activities by managing maintenance supervisors, maintenance staff, and contractors. The Director oversees all aspects of building functions and guarantees the safety and functionality of all facilities. The ideal candidate is well-versed in facilities management processes and exhibits high multitasking and organizational skills.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Experience in planning and maintaining budgets, including capital budgets. Prepare specifications for physical plant projects, including estimating costs of equipment, materials, labor, and supplies, as well as preparing bid specifications.
· Directs and oversees external contractors, including scheduling and managing projects to meet deadlines and ensure quality.
· Ensures work orders and maintenance items are addressed in a timely fashion and completed. Ensures all preventive maintenance tasks are completed daily through audits and supervisory checks.
· Ensure that the facility and its assets are accessible 24/7 for emergency preparedness and related events.
· Develops specifications for cost-effective campus energy management systems and supervises their operation, completing maintenance and repairs as needed.
· Provide support and resources for activities such as equipment inventory, equipment analysis, recommendations on equipment life cycles, efficiency strategies, inventory control, infection control assessments, workforce utilization, and project-related events.
· Responsible for implementing established MCC programs on-site, adhering to departmental procedures and guidelines that meet goals and ensure a well-maintained, clean, and safe environment.
· Implements, trains, monitors, and measures purchasing policy, procedures, and initiatives. Supports initiatives through the effective implementation of standard operating procedures, purchasing protocols, and sustainability efforts, including a preventative maintenance program.
· Possesses comprehensive knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements, including OSHA, NFPA, DOH, EPA, DEC, and local codes, and can effectively resolve regulatory issues within the healthcare environment.
· Develops and coaches department employees to help them achieve their full potential.
· Maintains disaster preparedness by collaborating closely with all applicable depts.
· Responsible for providing and coordinating training and recertification programs that meet the facility's and staff's needs within appropriate timeframes.
· Familiar with all procedures, union contracts, and employee personal manuals, and adheres to all established agency requirements.
· Maintain a safe work environment. Including ensuring MSDS sheets are updated.
· Assists in developing and implementing company programs, systems, or mechanisms that support the Masonic Care Community's short- and long-term goals.
· Available on a 24/7 basis to respond to any building emergencies.
· Performs other jobs as assigned.
JOBQUALIFICATIONS:
· A degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or an equivalent qualification, is required.
· Alternatively, candidates must possess a minimum of five years of demonstrated work experience in a technical or leadership capacity within the healthcare and facilities sector.
· It is preferred that applicants have previously held a leadership role in a healthcare environment.
· A general understanding of all trades is essential.
· Candidates must have a valid driver's license and the ability to comprehend all applicable codes and regulations.
· Proficiency in reading blueprints is required.
The base range for this position is $85K - $105K per year commensurate with work location, experience, skills, certifications, education & prior accomplishments.
The position may be eligible for additional compensation not listed here, including but not limited to shift differentials, incentives or bonuses, as applicable.
