The Cafe Team Member assists the Cafe Manager in preparing and serves food to employees, residents, and families in our Down the Stretch Cafe. Prepares, cooks, and delivers dishes and ensures good sanitary conditions throughout our cooking and dining premises. Money transactions are part of the duties. The goal is to provide excellent food services by following instructions and standards. The Cafe Team Member must be competent and conscientious with a customer-oriented approach.
Common Responsibilities:
- Takes orders, prepares and serves food following instructions while adhering to all safety and health standards and work as short order cook.
- Operates dishwasher, sweeps and mops kitchen, refrigerator and dishwasher rooms.
- Checks in and puts away orders and deliveries in storeroom and coolers as needed.
- Monitors and keeps inventory of food items, and other products, places orders with the kitchen weekly for delivery.
- Performs heavy cleaning, such as ovens and grills as requested.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Food service experience preferred but not required.
- Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 60 pounds.
