Director of Human Resources
Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania - Elizabethtown Campus - is immediately hiring a Director of Human Resources. This will be a Full Time position working Monday-Friday from 8am - 4pm.

As the Director of Human Resources, you will carry out our Mission of Love by implementing and ensuring Human Resource functions in accordance with current applicable Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. You will effectively communicate and interpret laws, personnel policies and code of conduct for all organization stake holders. This is accomplished with a keen sense of fairness and awareness as related to consistency and equal application in like situations. You will direct, supervise, and coordinate functions and activities of the Human Resources Department of the Masonic Villages and activities of human resources projects associated with other corporate entities as directed by the Chief Human Resources Officer.
Our Director of Human Resources is responsible for the following:
- Participating in the development of human resources goals, objectives, philosophy, and strategic planning in relation to Masonic Villages of the Grand Lodge of PA's mission and trends in human resource management.
- Educating and informing department managers, supervisors, and administrators on investigation process, personnel policy, and code of conduct.
- Implementing plans for benefit services and other employer/employee programs. Providing input/feedback concerning changes, policies, procedures, and benefits as they relate to human resources management, and to maintain high employee job stability.
- Supervising and mentoring the Manager of Human Resources at Elizabethtown. Assisting in providing guidance and direction to Human Resource directors and managers at other locations as needed.
- Working collaboratively with HR Manager, external recruitment partners and corporate HR to develop techniques and procedures to guide activities of recruitment and hiring.
- Assuring compliance in human resources for compliance with regulatory and legal requirements buy conducting compliance audits such as quarterly child labor law compliance, wage/hour law compliance, etc. Serving as a member of the Human Resources Leadership Team.
- Providing guidance and recommendations for human resource issues such as policy problems and employee relations disputes. Monitoring dealings with these issues to insure consistency in policy administration. Facilitating and or conducting investigations of harassment and discrimination and report findings, conclusions and actions taken to the Compliance Officer.
- In conjunction with Executive Assistant, planning, coordinating, and directing the annual employee years of service and retiree recognition program.
- Analyzing and evaluating monthly unemployment compensation benefits cost to make determination and recommendation related to the effectiveness of participation in the Unemployment Compensation solvency program as it relates to request for relief from charges. Educating and assisting other HR Directors with unemployment compensation and preparation for hearings.
- Conducting exit interviews according to applicable employment guidelines and internal policies and procedures.
- Developing Quality Improvement monitors and benchmarks to improve department processes.
What You Have:
- Master's (preferred) or bachelor's degree from an approved college or university with courses in human resources and business administration with additional courses in labor relation law. Preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Five to seven years human resources professional experience as a director with a focus in employee relations.
- Thorough knowledge of State and Federal employment laws.
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written word.
- High level of computer efficiency.
- Experience in human resource information system software, Workday and or cloud based preferred.
- SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
