SUMMARY: Responsible for patching and painting walls, woodwork and fixtures throughout all facilities of the MCCA. Perform general and preventative maintenance, as well as assisting other members of the physical plant staff as needed.

- Remove old finish using chemical compounds, a scraper and related tools
- Perform repairs to holes, joints and cracks in walls and woodwork
- Mix paint and match colors, including wood stains
- Perform all work in accordance with safety procedures
- Determine time needed to complete project in a timely manner
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Building Superintendent
- Assist other members of the Engineering & Maintenance staff, as needed, in the completion of their required duties

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

WORK SCHEDULE: Due to the nature of this work, this department operates 7 days per week 24 hours per day. The employee typically works a fixed or rotating shift consisting of days, nights, weekends and holidays based on the needs of the department. The ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays are required.
