As a Life Safety Compliance Specialist, you will be an essential part of our mission to create a safe, compliant, and proactive environment within the medical group. Reporting to the EH&S Director, you’ll be responsible for managing key activities to minimize workplace risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and champion safety initiatives.
This hybrid role provides a blend of on-site regional presence and remote flexibility, perfect for candidates who thrive in a dynamic and responsive work setting.
Due to the hybrid nature of the role, we ensure that our employees receive required technology and training to be proficient and independently productive in all job responsibilities regardless of work location. Employees are responsible for designating a workspace within the remote work location that is private, safe, ergonomic, and free from distractions for all hours worked.
Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:- Fire Drill Coordination: Plan, coordinate, and execute fire drills to ensure team preparedness.
- Safety Audits & Inspections: Perform safety audits across clinical, laboratory, and support areas. Document observations and work with department representatives on rectifying any safety or compliance concerns.
- Hazardous Materials Oversight: Develop and maintain competency in hazardous waste management, providing technical support and oversight under the EH&S Director’s guidance. Maintain Safety Data Sheet database.
- Indoor Air Quality Investigations: Support air quality assessments and investigations, collaborating with facilities teams and contractors to address concerns effectively.
- Technical Competency & Compliance: Keep current with relevant policies, codes, and standards, ensuring adherence to all EH&S regulations and life safety compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or a related field ( equivalent experience may be considered in place of a degree ). At least 3 years of relevant experience in Environmental Health and Safety.
Additional Job Details (if applicable)
- Familiarity with CMS, AAAHC, and DPH codes Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM, HEM) are a plus
