JOB SUMMARY
The role supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow. This role involves direct interaction with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns, as well as collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care.
Essential Functions (Key Roles & Responsibilities)
* Assist s junior Medical Assistants with day-to-day questions and responsibilities and help facilitate their learning by participating in on-boarding training.
*Show patients to examination rooms and prepares necessary equipment for healthcare providers and interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height and record information in the patients medical record.
*Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions to patients, ordering and organizing educational materials to reinforce patient education.
*Perform general office duties, such as answering phones, taking dictation, and completing insurance forms, while acting as a liaison with other departments and advocating for patients with a positive customer service approach
*Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log them, and prepare them for testing; perform phlebotomy if competence is demonstrated.
*Maintains inventory of immunizations and checks expiration date. Provides immunizations (as applicable) which requires certification or 3 years of experience administering a vaccine and supervision of a provider.
*Responsible for improving appropriate departmental quality initiatives, such as two patient identifiers and hand hygiene.
*Performs other duties as assigned

11. Administer TMS under the supervision of an on-site physician (may involve advanced TMS equipment and neuro-navigation to guide TMS therapy to the appropriate brain region).
12. Navigate and mitigate patient side effects during treatment.
13. Adhere to safety and compliance guidelines.
14. Call patients ahead of their first TMS treatment to answer questions and address concerns.
15. Administer standardized questionnaires to assess psychiatric symptoms.
16. Triage patient concerns and elevate urgent ones to on-site prescribing physicians.
17. Document daily notes in the medical record and quality check patients' charts to ensure their authorizations are up to date, visit numbers are correct, and all consent forms and documents are uploaded.
18. Discuss patient progress at weekly rounds meeting.
19. Assist the Lead TMS Technician in maintaining a database for clinical and research activities.
20. Provide feedback and advice on improving the TMS clinical service.
21. Work with the TMS Coordinator and Lead TMS Technician to maintain TMS equipment, order supplies, ensure the proper maintenance and function of the equipment used, and contact appropriate vendors for repairs, when necessary.
22. Work with the TMS Coordinator and Lead TMS Technician to develop and monitor equipment quality control testing, as necessary.
23. Assist the Lead TMS Technician in training initiatives.
24. May initiate purchasing requests, monitor accounts/expenditures; reconcile statements if Lead Technician needs assistance.
25. Stay up to date on TMS literature.
26. May involve TMS administration or coordination of clinical research protocols.
27. Performs other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required
- Some college, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Certificate preferred
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Certificate Program preferred
- Experience in healthcare preferred
SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Clinical Skills
- Knowledge of practice operations and standards.
