The DeKosky Laboratory for Immune Engineering (www.dekoskylab.org) is hiring a new Laboratory Manager to co-lead laboratory operations and the implementation of cutting-edge scientific efforts. The hired candidate will coordinate the general management of laboratory operations and facilities related to the development and analysis of precision molecular therapeutics. The hired candidate will also aid in the implementation of projects, the use of specialized techniques in the lab, and the training of new hired candidates in laboratory procedures and research techniques. This position will focus on both operations and research roles to advance projects from funding sources, including the federal government, non-profit organizations, internal funding opportunities. The hired candidate will work closely with a dynamic and collaborative team of researchers in the acquisition and analysis of scientific data.
The ideal candidate must have a passion for team-based science within an academic environment. The hired candidate will play an integral role in the management DeKosky laboratory, and will be a part of cutting-edge research in precision and targeted therapeutics, especially related to global infectious diseases, cancer, and autoimmunity.
Our laboratory members are intensely curious about immune protection and want to participate in the exciting world of understanding how immune responses can be effectively engineered to fight human diseases. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals that thrive in the implementation of exciting team-based science. The hired candidate will work closely with all team members and other research groups in The Ragon Institute to ensure consistent laboratory facilities and operations. The candidate will also work with our diverse scientific team of postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, technical staff, and our extensive network of collaborators to perform scientific experiments, prepare new manuscripts, and to prepare scientific figures. Strong people skills are a necessity for the role in order to support continued team operations in collaboration with a variety of team members, as well as managing the laboratory systems together with external vendors. The position will provide an immersive and rich team-based environment in the molecular and engineering sciences.
Job Summary
Performs a variety of research and research administration activities in direct support of the Department's research faculty and programs. Responsible for managing the overall functioning of the research operation. Serves as a front-line resource for researchers in the Department, acting as liaison to internal administrative units and external sponsors on matters relating to research programs.
