We are one of the largest and most trusted providers of orthopedic care in both the Seacoast region and the state of New Hampshire. We have been a leader in sports medicine for more than 30 years, with practices located in Somersworth, Lee and Portsmouth. We are the official orthopedists and team physician group for the University of New Hampshire in recognition of our advanced training and ability to understand complex sports injuries.
We are seeking a full-time Supervisor to join our Orthopedics/Sports Medicine team! Under the direction of the Practice Manager, the Supervisor will coordinate various operational and administrative tasks as well as act as a liaison between providers, office and clinical staff, as necessary, to ensure the successful operation of our practices in Somersworth, Lee, and Portsmouth. Primary oversight will be in the Somersworth location where our main Orthopedics & Sports Medicine clinic operations are located, in addition to our newly established Orthopedic Walk-In Clinic. The operating hours for the main clinic are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm and the Walk-In Clinic operates Monday-Friday 8:00am-8:00pm, and Saturdays 8:00am-1:00pm. This Supervisor would oversee a team of approximately 24 staff members.
Job Summary
Coordinates and oversees the day-to-day operations of the outpatient practices. Supervises clinical support staff, including all applicable human resource processes and practice operational duties.Essential Functions
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, evaluating, training and developing support staff.
- Provides day to day supervision and direction to support staff.
- Assigns work and monitors performance.
- Monitors/coordinates managed care/billing function including referral process, insurance verification, registration, cash collection, encounter forms and billing
- Participates in the assessment and management of operational functions including patient scheduling, wait times, staff coverage, ancillary tests and follow up appointments, phone systems, transcription services and volume issues.
- Oversees purchase orders, petty cash and check requests.
- Maintains and orders office supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Associate's Degree Related Field of Study preferred
Experience
Supervisory experience 0-1 year required
Experience working in an academic healthcare environment 2-3 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of all Office Suite.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Strong and proven leadership skills.
Ability to work with staff of all levels.
Excellent time management skills.
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

When hiring, we look for candidates who possess not only the relevant skills and competencies, but also positive attitudes, emotional intelligence, and genuine passion for this work. The ideal candidate profile is adaptable, receptive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. It is strongly preferred for this Supervisor to have 3-5 years of Supervisory experience, Orthopedic or specialty experience in a community-based outpatient setting, and EPIC experience or use of another EHR.
The Supervisor must be able to travel to all our locations (Somersworth, Lee, Portsmouth) as needed.
