What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Crisis Team Clinician position at Massac County Mental Health?
Massac County Mental Health is seeking a full time Crisis Clinician (MHP or QMHP status) to join our team! Crisis is integrated into several aspects of our agency's client experience and community collaboration. As such, this position involves maintaining existing relationships with community partners and referral resources, as well as nurturing new partnerships. Crisis staff also collaborate with agency staff in order to ensure follow-up care is done in a timely and effective manner.
We are aware that Crisis can be demanding at times, and is not necessarily for everyone. As such, we strive to emphasize a team approach, with shared coverage and management support in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to meet with individuals who are both self-referred, and 3rd party referrals, who are experiencing a crisis. This may be in a variety of settings, on-site or in the community.
- Mobile / Community based encounters are conducted as a Mobile Crisis Team, after a safety and risk assessment is completed, and may involve a co-response with law enforcement if appropriate.
- Evaluating an individual's symptoms, presentation, and presenting problem in order to formulate a diagnostic conceptualization of the person's needs.
- Ability to evaluate impact of substances on the presenting crisis and determine how to best support the individual, family members, or other members of care team in that setting.
- Ability to guide individuals in collaborative de-escalation, emotional regulation, and problem solving interventions to assist the person or persons in crisis.
- Ability to assist individuals with referrals to additional resources and placement agencies for support as needed.
- Assisting with follow-up contacts as part of post-crisis support.
- Providing reports and updates to supervisor.
- Attending Crisis related trainings
- After-hours and weekends are a required component of this position for additional compensation. To avoid anyone being over-extended, we have a team of individuals who share these shifts.
- Ability to navigate Electronic Health Records for documentation and review of client files.
- Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in mental health counseling or other related fields
- Familiarity with community mental health and substance use recovery resources
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to build rapport with clients and community partners
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field
- Ability to take calls and offer Crisis Response some after-hours and weekends as part of Crisis Team.
