Job Overview
The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center’s (MassCEC) Controller will be responsible for the accounting operations of the entity and other aspects of financial management, reporting directly to the CFO.
The Controller will manage the development of accounting policies, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and comprehensive internal controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the MassCEC's financial results. The Controller will ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The Controller will have one direct report and will interact with all levels of the organization. The Controller requires a deep understanding of government, state, and federal funding processes, compliance requirements, and grant management.
Job Duties
Financial Management :
- Oversee all financial activities of the finance department, including accounting, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and cash management.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and applicable governmental accounting standards.
- Stay informed about current governmental accounting standards and OMB Uniform Guidance to ensure accurate implementation within the organization as needed.
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and financial policies.
- Monitor and manage the organization’s cash flow to ensure liquidity and operational efficiency.
- Assist in the preparation of finance or budget related documentation to be presented to the MassCEC Board of Directors and its committees.
