The Accreditation Coordinator oversees the analysis, evaluation, and maintenance of the teacher preparation program's licensing and accreditation requirements. This includes managing and coordinating the self-evaluation processes, preparation for accreditation visits, and all reporting requirements.
Program Accreditation: Leads all aspects of DESE accreditation program reviews. Serves as lead author, and organizer regarding all facets of program reviews. Works closely with Ed Dept faculty and staff including the Ed Dept Department Chair and DESE Liaison and the MCLA Dean of DGCE.
Assessment Systems: Leads the design and implementation of the assessment system for the MCLA educator preparation programs including data collection, external review, and analysis. This includes the Benchmark and Gateway assessment systems at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Strategic Planning: Outlines and submits all program implementation plans to DESE to meet the current regulations and standards for educator preparation program reviews. requirements of new standards including, but not limited to:
Early Literacy Initiative.
Professional Standards for Teachers (PST) Requirements.
Candidate Assessment of Performance (CAP) Requirements.
Feedback from the Field: Conduct yearly gathering and analysis of survey data every semester, as part of required continuous improvement for program approval. Includes gathering and analyzing survey data from:
Students (undergraduate and graduate).
Faculty (full-time and part-time within the Education Department and most other departments at MCLA).
Staff within the Education Department.
Partners (district and school personnel).
Supervising Practitioners.
Program Supervisors (MCLA faculty and staff hired to supervise Teacher Candidates)
Curriculum Review: Yearly review of all program content, curriculum, and instruction to ensure alignment with State standards. Lead all department-wide projects to update curriculum based on implementation plans.
Student Progress: Conduct yearly review of both undergraduate and graduate GPA data to identify areas for improvement, to be shared with Ed Dept faculty and staff.
Reporting Requirements: Complete annual reports (federal and state), including but not limited to: Title II and State Annual Report. Provide data and responses for any additional required reporting and documentation (including state, federal, NCTQ, SARA, and website content).
Professional Development: Attends statewide professional accreditation meetings. This includes any DESE programming meetings, SCOPE meetings, and others as needed.
Attends Education Department, Division of Graduate and Continuing Education, and other meetings as requested or required.
Job Requirements:
Degree of at least Bachelors level or equivalent; Masters degree preferred.
Ability to work with faculty, staff, and students in a college setting.
Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
Ability to write and produce well-structured and accurate documentation, reports, and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
In-depth experience conducting curriculum review and assessment.
Strong familiarity with DESE accreditation requirements.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time (18 hours per week), non-unit position with an hourly rate of $35 per hour.
