Support the Physics Department's outreach efforts as part of a grant-funded initiative to increase the number of students graduating with a degree in physics. This first outreach event will be held in partnership with the Choices Mentoring Initiative, a local mentoring program for young men in the Berkshires, on Tuesday, April 22nd. We will depart campus at 5:00 PM, and return by 9:00 PM.
Responsibilities include:
Attending one Choices Mentoring Initiative meeting to co-facilitate a hands-on STEM activity and participate in a Q&A session about studying physics at MCLA
Up to 3 hours of prep time prior to the event preparing materials for the activity and practicing facilitation techniques
Collaborating with other student workers and faculty to deliver an engaging and welcoming outreach experience.

Currently enrolled at MCLA and in good academic standing
Declared physics major
Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for STEM outreach
Availability for up to 3 hours of prep time in the week prior to the event, and for the full event time on April 22nd.
