JOB TITLE: Youth Trainer (Part-Time, Per Diem)
REPORTS TO: Director of Programs and DEIB
LOCATION & HOURS: State-wide; Maximum 100 hours between April 1- June 30,
2025
RATE OF PAY: $50/hour Recognize that as a Per Diem consultant the number of
hours of work assigned will vary.
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
Main Function
MACGH is currently seeking a dedicated youth trainer. This part-time, temporary role
involves educating youth on the risks associated with online sports betting and
fantasy sports, empowering them to make informed decisions, and fostering critical
thinking about sports, multimedia, and cultural norms. The youth trainer will serve
as a positive role model and support and inspire young participants while creating a
safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment.
Candidates will receive at least 16 hours of comprehensive training (e.g.,
understanding program content, developing facilitation skills, youth engagement
strategies) before starting the program to ensure they are well-equipped for success.
Essential Job Function:
• Teach program content to youth aged 12-20 in an engaging, age-appropriate,
and interactive manner.
• Oversee the daily operations of program activities, including setup, execution,
and takedown of materials and equipment.
• Encourage participation in activities, foster positive relationships, and facilitate
a sense of belonging in classroom setting.
• Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment by modeling respectful
behavior and addressing any conflicts or challenges that arise.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including participant
evaluations, attendance records, and program registration forms.
• Work closely with MACGH to provide feedback on program effectiveness and
assist in preparing reports or feedback summaries.
Requirements
• High School diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, or
related field preferred.
• Minimum of three years working with youth in an instructional, mentoring, or
leadership capacity.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable form of transportation.
• A Criminal Offender Record Information check may be required.
