The Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers (League) was founded in 1972 as one of the country's first state Primary Care Associations (PCAs). Established under the same federal authorizing legislation as the health center program (Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act), PCAs are organized around a set of core functions and competencies that provide a framework for support and assistance to health centers and the communities they serve. The League is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization registered as a public charity with the Commonwealth's Secretary of State. It maintains a professional staff at its headquarters in Boston and its training center in Worcester.
The League has several affiliated organizations to accomplish its mission to serve community health centers, including The Institute for Health Equity Research, Evaluation and Policy (IHE). The IHE convenes communities and supports the scientific infrastructure, implementation, program evaluation and training needed to identify and sustain the most effective strategies for attaining equity in health and healthcare, as defined by those with lived experience of health inequities. The IHE advances Health Center-led Science to ensure that science benefits communities who bear the greatest human costs of long-standing health inequities.
Position Summary :
IHE seeks an operationally minded, detail-oriented and mission-driven professional to implement and manage IHE business operations and program activities. The successful candidate will work with a team to establish, implement and maintain systems that support operations for research, evaluation, and policy-relevant work. The Operations Manager will also have a role in : (a) evaluating the overarching success and impact of IHE activities, and (b) engaging communities to ensure wide dissemination of IHE activities.
Essential Functions :

- Collaborate with the League finance team to establish and maintain systems to manage and track IHE finances. Responsibilities include developing and managing program-specific budgets, operational budgets, maintaining projections to guide future spending, and managing contracts with vendors
- Provide end-to-end support across the lifecycle of IHE grants and contracts management from pre-award to post-award and close out activities, including proposal and contract submission to scientific, industry, and philanthropic organizations.
- Lead and manage select programs in collaboration with health centers and community partners
- Oversee and supervise IHE staff to monitor and drive progress needed to achieve program objectives and produce deliverables on-time and in accordance with project scopes of work.
- Serve as primary writer for reports on grants and contracts activities.
- Collaborate with IHE staff and MLCHC compliance officer or their designee to oversee processes that ensure the ethical conduct of human subjects research and evaluation activities
- Collaborate with IHE staff to lead project meetings and team meetings to ensure smooth program operations
