About the Role:
The Academic Support Specialist is responsible for assisting cadets with academic challenges, including attendance, mid-term deficiencies, and other areas of concern.
Key Responsibilities:
- Refer cadets to academic support services as needed.
- Provide guidance and support to cadets struggling with academic challenges.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement policies and procedures related to academic support.
- Participate in Sea Term as assigned—a 52-day training ship deployment—fulfilling responsibilities that mirror onshore duties.
- Serve in an on-call, overnight capacity, one night per week throughout the academic year, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to academy regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Two years of professional experience working with young adults, with priority given to candidates with experience working in a college/university environment.
- Ability to collaborate with a range of individuals, including professional staff, non-professional staff, and students.
- Must be able to participate in an overnight on-call rotation on campus, which may involve crisis response and intervention.
