Job Description
The Massachusetts Maritime Academy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Support Specialist to join its team in the Academic Affairs Division. This individual will provide administrative support to the Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs (SVPAA) in a high-tempo, high-visibility office setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the SVPAA, including maintaining confidentiality on sensitive issues related to the division and the academy.
- Assist the Registrar's Office during peak periods of work, such as registration and student academic review.
- Support the SVPAA in administering faculty personnel action processes and hiring.
- Perform daily support for Academics Division operations, including minute-taking for the Board of Trustees, credit card reconciliation, travel planning, and purchasing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in academics or a related field.
- Demonstrate proven administrative support at the executive level.
- Utilize the Microsoft Office Suite, including database management, online calendars, and other related online software.
- Able to work independently and effectively.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Understand the unique mission of the university as a maritime academy.
