General Responsibilities
Massachusetts Maritime Academy seeks applications for an Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs (SVPAA). A position requiring a high degree of confidentiality, this individual would work closely to support the SVPAA in a high-tempo, high visibility office setting. The work includes supporting faculty promotion processes, student conduct assessments, faculty hiring, and special projects in the Academic Affairs Division. The successful candidate will also support the Registrar’s Office during peak periods related to registration and student academic review.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs
- Maintain a high degree of discretion on sensitive issues related the division and the Academy.
- Assist the Registrar’s Office during peak periods of work.
- Support the SVPAA in administering the faculty personnel action process and faculty hiring.
- Perform daily support for Academics Division operations to include minute-taking for the BoT, credit card reconciliation, travel planning and purchasing.
Qualifications and Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3-5 years of professional experience in academics or a related field
- Demonstrate proven administrative support at the executive level
- Utilize the Microsoft Office Suite to include database management, online calendars, and other related online software
- Ability to work independently and effectively
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Understand the unique mission of the University as a Maritime Academy
