The Stephanie Lovell Honors Fellowship Program

The Stephanie Lovell Honors Program, named in honor of former First Assistant Stephanie Lovell to recognize her many contributions to the Attorney General's Office, offers a unique and exciting opportunity for new lawyers to launch their legal careers in the public sector, receive training and guidance from experienced attorneys, and enhance and develop their legal skills in an office committed to excellence in public service. As an initiative of the Office's Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee, the Stephanie Lovell Honors Program is especially intended to expand opportunities within the Attorney General's Office for new lawyers and to attract a pool of candidates from a broad spectrum of backgrounds who reflect the diversity of the people of the Commonwealth and the communities we serve.

Our work at the Attorney General's Office encompasses a variety of different practice areas, including: civil rights, health care, consumer protection, environmental protection, criminal prosecution, fair labor, administrative law, data privacy, constitutional defense of the Commonwealth's nation-leading laws, and so much more. In addition to our Boston offices, we have regional offices that serve the Western, Central, and Southeastern regions of Massachusetts. Given this broad array of essential public services, having the skills, perspectives, and fluency in our Commonwealth's communities is increasingly vital to our mission.

Selected Fellows will explore and gain experience in a variety of practice areas over the course of the two-year fellowship. Fellows generally complete three rotations through different areas of the office.

Fellows receive training and guidance from experienced attorneys to enhance proficiency and develop skills. Through the Fellowship Program, new attorneys will launch their legal careers by enriching their legal experience, broadening their exposure to the public sector, and assuming substantial individual responsibility for their work.
