Job Title: Executive Director (Part-Time, approx 5 hours per week) Location: Massachusetts (Remote with occasional in-person meetings) Duration: Available immediately Position Summary: The Massachusetts Partnership for Diversity in Education (MPDE) seeks an experienced and passionate Executive Director to lead our organization part-time. This role is pivotal in advancing our mission to promote equity and diversity in education across Massachusetts. The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, operations, and partnerships of MPDE, ensuring that we continue to support the recruitment, retention, and support of teachers of color by fostering collaborative relationships with public school districts across Massachusetts, hosting career fairs, and conferences that educate and promote supportive, promising practices. Key Responsibilities: 1. Leadership and Strategic Direction (in collaboration with the President): - Provide visionary leadership to advance MPDE’s mission and vision. - Collaborate with the Executive Board to develop and implement strategic plans. - Ensure alignment of all programs and initiatives with the organization’s goals of promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in education. 2. Program Management (in collaboration with the Vice-President): - Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of MPDE’s programs and initiatives. - Support the development and implementation of programs that provide resources and support to educators and students, particularly those from underrepresented groups. MTEL & Tuition Reimbursement Teacher, Paraprofessional & Leadership Pipelines MPDE Job Fairs Fall Building Bridges Conference Membership Workshop Meetings (4 per year) - Monitor progress towards achieving program goals and objectives. 3. Community and Partnership Engagement (in collaboration with the Partnership Liaison): - Foster and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including educational institutions, community organizations, and government agencies. 4. Financial Management (in collaboration with the Treasurer): - Oversee budget management, ensuring financial sustainability and accountability. 5. Board and Staff Collaboration (in collaboration with the Secretary): - Serve as the primary liaison between the Executive Board and districts, ensuring clear communication and collaboration. - Provide guidance and support to staff assistants and the Executive Board. 6. Communication and Advocacy (in collaboration with the Communication Liaison): - Serve as the public face and voice of MPDE, effectively communicating the organization’s mission, vision, and impact. - Develop and implement a communications strategy to raise awareness of MPDE’s work and influence public discourse on equity and diversity in education. Qualifications: - Proven experience in a leadership role within a nonprofit or educational organization, preferably focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion. - Strong understanding of the educational landscape in Massachusetts, including challenges and opportunities related to equity and diversity. - Demonstrated success in program management and financial oversight. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with all stakeholders. - Commitment to MPDE’s mission and values, with a deep understanding of issues related to racial equity and social justice in education. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a part-time role. Compensation: This is a part-time position (approx. 5 hours per week) with a competitive salary commensurate with experience. (20,000-25,000).
