We are currently seeking an experienced, full-time Public Relations Manager to join our growing PR team. Our ideal candidate is a professional crisis expert who has strong media relationships, can lead corporate clients and a team. It is also imperative to know how to work with the media to bring complex stories to life.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement comprehensive public relations strategies that align with client goals and objectives.
- Identify and leverage media opportunities, story hooks, and community engagement initiatives to maximize client visibility.
- Media Relations:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with consumer, trade, and local media outlets at both regional and national levels.
- Pitch story ideas, negotiate media coverage, and secure placements that align with client priorities.
- Monitor and analyze media trends to identify emerging opportunities for client exposure.
- Content Development:
- Create high-quality written materials, including press releases, media kits, articles, blog posts, speeches, key messaging documents, and newsletters.
- Ensure all communications reflect the client’s brand voice and messaging while resonating with target audiences.
- Integrated Marketing and PR Campaigns:
- Collaborate with internal teams to align public relations initiatives with broader marketing, content, digital, and social media strategies.
- Identify and implement partnerships or community programming opportunities to enhance client campaigns.
- Account Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing strategic guidance, regular updates, and measurable results.
- Professionally represent the agency during client meetings, industry events, and trade shows, with the ability to deliver formal presentations.
- Leadership and Team Collaboration:
- Mentor junior staff by providing constructive feedback, sharing expertise, and fostering professional development.
- Actively contribute to a positive team culture, promoting innovation and collaboration across the agency.
- Analytics and Reporting:
- Track and evaluate the performance of PR campaigns, preparing detailed reports that showcase results and return on investment.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to optimize future strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in public relations or communications, with agency or in-house experience required.
- Proven success in developing and executing media relations strategies, including securing media coverage.
- Experience in B2B, consumer and corporate public relations is highly desirable.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with an understanding of social media and digital communications trends.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Team-oriented with a proactive, independent work ethic.
